The Central/Southern Illinois Synod Takes Steps to Move Forward in Mission Planning and Action
Members of the Central/Southern Illinois Synod (C/SIS) Council and program committees met at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Springfield on September 18, 2010 for worship, Bible study, conversation and fellowship.
After much spirited and spirit-filled discussion the group proposed “moving forward through missional planning around the focal points of New/Renewing Congregations, Social Ministry Justice and Advocacy, Stewardship Education and Mission Support.”
The leaders of the teams will be Reverend Ed Hudelson, Reverend Matt Geerdes and Reverend Stephen Goodwin, respectively.
After worship, a number of attendees met with one of these three teams to begin developing a roster and missional action plans. Others across the synod are invited to serve. For more information, contact Terry Moore at Terry.Moore@csis-elca.org or call 217.753.7915.
