You Are Always Welcome Here.

St. Paul’s is a warm community grounded in God’s grace.  We exist to celebrate God’s love for us and to reach people with the love of Jesus.

Join us this Sunday as we receive God’s gifts – the Word of Grace, and the Sacraments of God’s love.

A History of growing in Christ

St. Paul’s has been a worshiping community in Roberts, IL since 1885.  The current building was lovingly built by members in the late 1960s.  Today people drive from many miles outside Roberts to worship together, and we are blessed with the full spectrum of ages and life situations.  Through the grace of God, the generations still find St. Paul’s a place to grow in Christ.

Why St. Paul’s?

We are a congregation named after the witness and the work of a fascinating Christian.
St. Paul’s life story is the story of a journey from living in fear to living in hope

Shortly after Jesus’ death and resurrection, there was a man who was known as both Saul and Paul.  At this point in his life, Paul believed in the power of fear to control people’s lives, and he made it his mission in life to bring the followers of Jesus to trial for blasphemy against God.

One day, on his way to arrest some Christians, Paul was encountered by the risen Christ. The encounter changed his life.  He learned the good news of Jesus’ love and forgiveness.

Because of this, the power of fear and death no longer had control over him.  Paul spent the rest of his life sharing this good news. He wrote the following message to encourage Christians in Rome who faced hard times:

Can anything separate us from the love of Christ? Can trouble, suffering, and hard times, or hunger and nakedness, or danger and death?  It is exactly as the Scriptures say:

“For you we face death all day long.
We are like sheep on their way to be butchered.”

In everything we have won more than a victory because of Christ who loves us.  I am sure that nothing can separate us from God’s love–not life or death, not angels or spirits, not the present or the future, and not powers above or powers below. Nothing in all creation can separate us from God’s love for us in Christ Jesus our Lord! (Romans 8:35-39, Contemporary English Version)

Paul found new hope for life in the good news of Jesus. You can too.

There is hope for life because God has loved us with an everlasting love in Jesus, the Christ.

We invite you to join us in worship, as we journey together in hope:

  • to hear God’s word of love for us
  • to become people of hope
  • to celebrate our new unity with God and with one another through Jesus
